Hi,
I think you need to bump the version number of your new upload, so that it is not the same as the one you previously uploaded.

Chris

The mail you got actually tells you:

It means another team has packaged the same version of dsss, and they
have it in their PPA. Look here:
Since all source packages are stored in a pool, two teams cannot have
files with identical names.
You should work out whatever needs to be done with the other team;
perhaps you can just use their package.
Cheers,
Morten

Hi.
This is simply not correct, pools are not shared between PPAs.
The upload is rejected because the user already uploaded the same version of
the package to the same PPA before. Deleting the package does not remove this
check! As somebody already pointed out, the user should bump the version on
the new package before uploading it again.

I think this is due to the deletion taking about 24 hours. You can
either wait for the files to be deleted, or you can bump the version.

Manual deletions actually happen very quickly! They also do not affect this
upload rejection, which happens regardless because Launchpad keeps track of
versions that were published and won't allow you to re-upload them.

Yes it's right. i had to bump the version.
IMHO all the files related to packages should be removed from ppa when someone
clicks on "delete" button (wish)
Thanks for you help guys

I knew that I was wrong, thanks for the truth.

Yes, but how do you handle the scenario where you upload a package and some people then download that package before you delete it from your archive? If you just replace that package with a different one that has the same version number, the people that downloaded your original package would not automatically get an update (and you would end up distributing multiple different packages all with the same version number).

Chris
