Hi Shirish,

We want the user to be able to change their setting, since they could have marked the bug mistakenly, or it could happen that the bug stopped affecting them for whatever reason. right, thought as well hence the big list of questions, it would be interesting to hear people's views on the same.

Isn't that a pretty far out corner case? Shouldn't LP be designed to work the way majority of its users are going to be working? Clean interface, efficient design are everything... At the very least, it should be moved to a screen that is accessible but not righ ton top, I think. But that is kind of moot, since it would require a lot of redesign of LP. The last facelift that LP got was great, but it needs to have an interface that, IMHO, is exclusively AJAX-driven. There is far, far too much overhead in the page reload round trips for, say, 70% of what LP does. --- Mike -- launchpad-users mailing list launchpad-users@lists.canonical.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/launchpad-users |

Tom landed fix which addresses all these problems, and lets you revert, landed a few minutes ago, and should bubble up to the surface in the following days. I'm looking forward to your comments! -- Martin -- launchpad-users mailing list launchpad-users@lists.canonical.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/launchpad-users |

Hi all,
Somehow the single toggle button for affects me and doesn't affect me doesn't gel. It doesn't tell me that what my current status is. The possibility to confuse users is still there. It should be much more identifiable. A much better solution perhaps to have some sort of colour change or something which tells the user at a glance which bugs are affecting him, both at the bug page itself as well as overall look within his bug page as well. What do you guys think of this idea? -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal This email is licensed under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- launchpad-users mailing list launchpad-users@lists.canonical.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/launchpad-users |

When the bug is marked as affecting you, it says "This bug affects me too" and when it's marked as not affecting you it says "This bug doesn't affect me". It also displays an icon when the bug is marked as affecting you. > The possibility to confuse users is still there. It should be much > more identifiable. Bear in mind that it's always difficult to display many different functions on a single page and have them all stand out. The bug page is quite full. > A much better solution perhaps to have some sort of > colour change or something which tells the user at a glance which bugs > are affecting him, both at the bug page itself as well as overall look > within his bug page as well. > > What do you guys think of this idea? I'm not a huge fan of using colour coding to represent states. I almost always find it confusing, rather than helpful, since it makes me remember the arbitrary colour mapping for every bit of information. I am also not sure that it's very important to display to the user which bugs affect them (other than for the purpose of allowing them to change their selection). Can you imagine a use case for looking for bugs which you have already marked as affecting you? Maybe we should make it possible to search for such bugs, in case you want to review them. For the bug listing, I much rather save the space for displaying information about what bugs are affecting other users.
