Default Java plugin Firefox-2?

I replaced Firefox-3 with Firefox-2. I got everything working (or so I
thought) but now I find that the java-plugin isn't there... at least
FF2 can't find it. I know it's installed because I checked in
aptitude. I even removed and re-installed it because I thought perhaps
the package had been screwed by removing FF3...

Anyone know how to enable Java in FF2 on Hardy?

I've got that problem when I used FF2 in Gutsy. At that time, I solved
as follows:
first, check the the java runtime environment installed in your system.
If you can find the folder such as /usr/java/jre.1.5.0_10, it has been
installed.
Next, go to the folder in which firefox is installed (e.g.,
/usr/bin/firefox) and
make the following link file,
"sudo ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_10/plugin/i386/ns7 ./libjavaplugin_oji.so"

I hope this may help you~ :-)
