Es Divendres, 18 de Abril de 2008, en Nigel Ridley va escriure:
| According to 'System Settings' > Monitor & Display > Hardware, it is using
| the VESA driver (generic).
| How can I find which graphics driver x is using?

It's under the driver section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

-----
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML
Express Integrated Graphics Controller"
Driver "intel"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"

EndSection

Section "Screen"

I'm also on Hardy... but I have no idea. I've upgraded from Gutsy... did you
do a fresh install? 8-?

I just got a reply about my bug submission:
[Bug 215282] Re: intel video driver not working on Dell inspirion 1525
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 218242 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218242

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 218242
DG33BU - Intel GMA 3100 - loaded -vesa rather than -intel

So I checked it out and somewhere in the comments it gave:
'fgrep drivers/ /var/log/Xorg.0.log' as a way to determine which driver x is using.

Mine now lists:
nigel@laptop:~$ fgrep drivers/ /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so

So it would seem that everything is now hunky-dory.

Always learning :-)

Blessings,

Nigel
