problems with Firefox 15 only shows in address bar 5 locations need 20
First issue: you're using a version of Ubuntu that is past it's EOL (End of Life) and hence most of the repos don't exist.
As for downgrading, I've no clue how to do so anymore, I had at one point been able to download different versions from a Mozilla server, I don't know if that is possible anymore or not. if it is, it's as simple as replacing the current firefox with the one extracted from a tar.bz archive. but this issue MAY be because you are using an old version of Kubuntu. 12.04 is in a very usable state, you may want to try upgrading.

Can any one help
I am running k12.04 with kernel 3.0.20 and Firefox 15 was updated, but
within ff15
it will only show 5 addresses in the address bar even though I I have
increased the
"browser.urlbar.maxRichResults" from 5 to 20, it still doesn't work,
is there a way
to UN-install ff15 as I have f14 as a .deb app that I used with my k10.10?

not much help either, am running Firefox with kde support but otherwise
no different from "stock" kubuntu firefox. I see 12 sites myself and the
parameter you mention is set to exactly that, 12.
if you want firefox with kde support check out this ppa, it might make a
difference for some reason since we do not understand the cause:

TuxMario DeTreb
problems with Firefox 15 only shows in address bar 5 locations need 20
Hello
Sometime I reached such an issue
My solution is :
Save my bookmarks either in .html or .json file (may be both)
Stop Firefox
Rename .mozilla directory (example : mv .mozilla DOTmozilla)
Close my cession
Start a new cession
Start Firefox
Restore my bookmarks from backup file*
NB : Solution is heavy but started a clean environment for the
current Firefox release
NB : When result is not as expected it's possible to go back to old
status by moving back your DOTmozilla directory to .mozilla
I apologize for my poor English. I'm French
Hope this help
