Default Self-Introduction

Hello all, i've been sitting on the list a little lost and not saying much for
a coupla weeks now and its about time i piped up

My name is Ash Joseph, i've been meaning to get some bits together for the art
team for a while, but i was having CLA problems and was a bit lost with the
process, also i've been trying to throw myself into GIMP and inkscape (still
not quite there with inkscape though :/ ) hopefully i can be of some use more
towards release 10, i had a few ideas a couple of months ago for an F8
alternative wallpaper theme based on infinity, but i never finished one of
them and they were made with photoshop and fireworks and also i couldnt submit
in time, which is a shame (blasphemy, im sorry)the links to them on my
deviantart are at the bottom, anyway i hope to get more involved in future and
i look forward to working with you all

You can ask for help if you have problems with CLA.

You don't have to master *all* the applications we use to produce content.

Well, you can start with smaller tasks, like those open in the

Those designs are interesting, but they couldn't be defaults for F8
anyway because 1. you are using the logo and we want to de-empasize the
logo usage and 2. they feature the moon as a central graphics, making
them too similar with the artwork in the previous release (F7).

I just applied for membership for the art group in FAS. My existing
contributions to Fedora artwork:
* I helped with fedoraflyinghigh-kdm-theme (the KDM port of the equivalent GDM
theme) and did fedorainfinity-kdm-theme (KDM port of fedorainfinity-gdm-theme)
essentially all alone.
* I also did some Bluecurve stuff:
- symlinks for bluecurve-icon-theme for KDE 4
- the Quarticurve stuff (qt4-theme-quarticurve, quarticurve-kwin-theme)
My plans for the future are to continue helping out with getting themes
adapted/ported to KDE and with KDM theme design (as KDM now needs its own
themes, we no longer have GDM themes to just port).

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

My name is Stephen Gallagher. I would like to join the Fedora
Infrastructure team in order to implement and maintain a ReviewBoard
system for Fedora Hosted projects.

My system administration experience is mostly limited to small office
networks. I am an RHCE (#804006346421761).

My experience with ReviewBoard is also somewhat limited, though I am the
Fedora and EPEL5 package maintainer for ReviewBoard and I have set it up
several times to verify that the package is functional.

My goal is to have ReviewBoard be available to any Hosted project that
wants to use it, to facilitate easier, public code reviews.

No problem. The System Administration email list is "Fedora
Infrastructure" <infrastructure@lists.fedoraproject.org>, and you can
look over our current 'issues' in our trac
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/

We are working on how we can better get a match between projects and
people so please look around and then email the list with your
questions..

Default Self-introduction

My name is Greg, my handle these days is xaeth, which is effectively a
shortened versin of a name I made up for accessing a MUD with strict
name requirements the better part of a decade ago (I haven't played
since around then either).* @dayjob I am one of their lead linux
engineers.* I work with improving various bits of their platform and
processes.* One of the first things I had to learn when starting there
>4 years ago was RPMs.* Since then I became a stickler about
enforcing the Fedora Packaging Guidelines as our internal guidelines.*
Sadly, there is always room for improvement, especially when
re-packaging software from 3rd party vendors.* The other thing I had to
learn a lot about was python, and we started to make that our primary
admin scripting tool internally.

I started helping out on the func and cobbler projects over the last
year, but currently project @dayjob is preventing me from contributing
as much as I want to at the moment (I've barely touched func since 0.29,
i'm sorry seth).*

I am also starting to use augeas more and more in our puppet setup.*
There is a python-augeas package, but it is not in EPEL at the moment.
I've built the package and submitted the 1 patch I had in, but due to a
lack of an EPEL maintainer it hasn't gotten release to EPEL.* The other
day on the list we got into a discussion on augeas-devel and I
volunteered to take on the role if possible.

I've read through the Package_Maintainers wiki.* At one point in one
of the docs it mentions that do do this I should follow the "Become a
co-maintainer" process, but I guess I missed that specific processes'
documentation.

So I'm at the point where I am introducing myself in the regular process

Solomon Peachy

Default Self-Introduction

Howdy, folks!

My name is Solomon Peachy, and I've been using the handle 'pizza' since
before my PFY days. I've been doing this Linux thing for quite some
time now -- My home directory dates back to Red Hat Linux 4.2, and I've
been using Linux as my primary desktop for more than a decade, but it
wasn't until relatively recently that I've become more actively involved
in upstream machinations.

I've been doing kernel hacking most of my professional life. Primarily
device driver work, but also board ports and general tweaking to make
embedded systems (when that still used to mean something) do their
things. I'm most infamous for my work on the long-obselete
'linux-wlan-ng' project that drove the old Prism2 802.11b WLAN devices,
but I've written a complete 802.11 stack and drivers for half a dozen
different WLAN chipsets. I've contributed minor stuff to gutenprint,
sane, ALSA, SDL, and to the Linux kernel itself.

In parallel, I've also used RHL/Fedora heavily for server deployments,
and even rolled my own rpm update/sync mechanism back in the bad old
days before yum and apt-rpm. I've written many a specfile and kickstart
over the years.

I'm finally putting myself through the Fedora Contributors process
because I'm probably going to be taking over the 'sysusage' package:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=747425

Anyway, back to $dayjob and documentation updates!

- Solomon
