I used to have an entry in the taskbar that indicated whether or not kmail
had any unread messages. It has disappeared. Under Settings | Configure
Notifications, "Mark taskbar entry" is checked. I tried restarting kontact.
I tried running kmail by itself. I tried rebooting. I tried reinstalling
kmail. Any idea how to get the indicator back?

Never mind. I had to turn on Message Indicator on System Tray Settings
(right click on system tray).
