Default Upside down text characters and Wine -- SOLVED

That was it! I finally tried what I should have done in the first place -- I
opened Synaptic and found that both Wine 1.2 and Wine 1.0 are available, so I
removed 1.2 and installed 1.0. Voila, right side up printing.
