Updates blocked

Hi,

since few days ago, I have some updates, concerning translation, Italian and
English, blocked in Kpackagekit. They refers to general and KDE packets.

I enabled the ppa repos and have Lucid 10.04.1 with KDE 4.4.5

Does anyboby experience the same? Any hint to solve the issue?

TIA

Ah, seems to be a common thing then. I run Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) and have
had this message for the past 2 days - until this morning (my time) when
all these "held back" upgrades to do with language translations were
performed.

Try again and see if the upgrades are done.

I you have the kubuntu beta ppa that seems to be how it works... and I
do not recommend the upgrade to 4.5 RC2, it broke one system here to pieces.

I gave away KDE some months back and am using Ubuntu. The problem seems
to apply to the language translations - for whatever reasons. This
morning (my time) all the "held back" updates were finally applied.

Sometimes, depending on which actual mirror you are grabbing updates from,
some packages have not been fully synced or uploaded into the repo just yet
(or perhaps it was faulty or corrupt). If that package or packages is a
dependency, other packages can't be installed, hence the 'held back' message.
This is a relatively normal occurrence in debian based systems and this
prevents you from breaking something due to the missing bits.

Aha, probably what happened. I use the linux.org mirror here in
Australia so it may not have synced as you suggest until yesterday.
