Default Wireless Connection Problem

Hi AllI am using Kubuntu 9.10 and I have done all the updates. My problem is that every morning when I go to connect to my wireless network I am not able to without doing a cold reboot of the router. I need a fix. Once *my laptop has its new IP it connects fine until it is shut down or put to sleep for*the*evening. This problem has been*occurring*for about a month now. It must be something in Network Manager (in my opinion). I have an HP laptop with an Intel*everything*MOBO.PS I installed 9.10 in Oct. 09 and the pc ran fine for months and connected and reconnected w/ no problems. I suspect it was an update that caused the problem.**
Thanks, SincerelyJohn Savage

Default Wireless connection problem

Please I need some help with my wireless connection. Now that I updated to
Ubuntu 12.04 my wireless connection is not enabled. I can see the connection
in "network connections" and it is set to automatically connect, but I
cannot see any wireless connection is the little icon at the top right
corner of the screen.
What should I do?
Thanks for your time and help
Jake

I have the same problem, I solved it by using these steps.

use
sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source
and then use additional driver utility install wireless driver from there, It worked for me this way,

Hope it will work for you too

Broadcom stuff is always troublesome. In "old" days, I use
b43-fwcutter. What's the current state now?

Everything is working great. I reinstalled the driver as was kindly
suggested and it's working great without problems so far.

I'm sorry. I'm not referring to your case. I mean the state of
Broadcom chip in general.

I'm happy to know your problem solved

Well, Dell is now even offering Intel Nic as an onboard as an option sinch Broadcom's are so bad... See the new line of servers like the 620, 720, etc.
