I am hoping someone on this list is using the ATOM
D945GCLF2 and has experienced this problem (andÂ*found a "fix").Â* I
have been Googling forÂ*several hours looking for a solution to
theÂ*problem with no luck.

After doing an "apt-get update" fromÂ*Kubuntu 8.04.3
LTS,Â*kernel 2.6.24-23-rtÂ*running onÂ*an Intel D945GCLF2 board, I
received the 2.6.24-25-rtÂ*kernel andÂ*found that the new kernel
cannotÂ*discoverÂ*the onboard eth(0) orÂ*KMixÂ*.Â* If I boot
eitherÂ*with the 2.6.24-23-rt kernel,Â*the ethernet device is discovered
(checked with "lsdev).Â* The D945 has the latest available bios LF0140P.ISO
(8/31/2009) for Linux/Windoze systems.

If I re-boot into Kubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, kernel 2.6.24-23-rt,
KMix and eth(0) are fine.

I haveÂ*three other Asus Desktop SystemsÂ*that
were upgraded to running Kubuntu 8.04.3 LTS,Â*kernel 2.6.24-25-rt
andÂ*none of them has this problem.
