Default That name already exists, please rename.

I was erasing many email that were useful as referrals from the list.
When someone had helped in the past and I forgot the instruction, they
would refer to the other email, but it usually had been erased.

Since then, I have saved every email from the list. On occasion I will
receive help from someone who has not written in a while. A folder
exists with their name on it, but when I click on move to, the list that
comes up does not always include there name, while it still shows on the
left of my screen in Thunderbird. Many times I have just made another
folder, so I don't lose the data, but recently I get a window that says
that folder already exists and no longer allows me to create a duplicate
folder. However, by creating the duplicate folder I was able to get the
name back on the 'move to' list. Do you have any ideas how I can
correct the problem. When I am forgetful, I don't want to duplicate
anyone's help efforts anymore. Thanks!

That list only contains the most recent folders. Just select the
messages you want to move and drag them on the folder; not as convenient
but close enough.
HTH,
I.

Well, the Recent list contains only the most recent. However, after you
click Move To, you can also select the "account" (e.g. Yahoo or Local
Folders), and drill down to any folder you want.

However, in practice drag and drop is often faster.
