Default 3 issues, please help me

nothing changed.
but i think the problem is with the wlan button. (It's not an
Fn-Fsomething key-combination, it's a button next to the power button)
When i typed lshal -m ,and pressed the button, it didn't even detect
it. :s I have no idea how to solve this problem

I know that. But the fact that "iwconfig" shows wlan0 (and with a power
setting) argued against that, imo. otoh, the fact that you don't have the
blue light argues for it :-)

And on the third hand (I'm quickly running out of them...), I just did that,
turned off the switch on my wifi, and turned it back on, and lshal didn't
show anything either. The only thing it saw was a change to battery level.

So what does "lshal -u /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pci_14e4_4311 --long"
show?

OK - that guarantees that NetworkManager will ignore it...

Remove the wlan0 line, and then see what happens.

It seems very unlikely, since I have the same hardware, and it works
flawlessly. My best guess so far is that it's his version of ndiswrapper.

Actually, no you didn't.

- that's apparently different hardware (at least in the original bug
report - some of the "me too" posters may actually have had the Broadcom
wifi - but nobody said so).

- not only different hardware, but specifically about enabling a software
control method

- different hardware, and in fact he has a workaround

Same problem as your second link, but different hardware - again, there's no
way of knowing if it actually refers to the same wireless NIC.

> imho must be a kernel thing...

Could well be, but there's no way of knowing so far. Imo, the only thing
that came out of those links that shows some promise is the person who
stated that he'd disabled his wireless under Windows, and couldn't then
_re-enable_ it in Linux. So Deguz, if you dual boot in Windows, go to
Windows and make sure it's functioning there, then reboot in Linux.

OK, I asked nicely, so now I'm just going to tell you how it is.

This is a mail list, which means you ask a question, someone responds,
someone else responds to them. That's a conversation, and conversations
work top down. STOP top posting if you want help. I won't respond to any
more top posts.

Respond inline and trim to what you need for context.

Everything shows your hardware as operational - except actual network
traffic and the little blue light.

If you right-click on the Network Manager icon in the system tray, does it
show any wireless devices? Under "Options", does it show wireless as
Enabled and Online?

What happens if you try "sudo ifup wlan0", "sudo ifconfig wlan0 up"
and "sudo dhclient wlan0"?

Alright, i'm sorry for this. (I hope this kind of writing is ok, and i
didn't misunderstand you. (I'm sorry, but my english is poor, so maybe
i misunderstood you)

Yes it does show a wireless device. And in Options, it shows the wlan
card as enabled.

sudo ifup wlan0
Ignoring unknown interface wlan0=wlan0.

After sudo ifconfig wlan0 up doesn't happen anything.

Your English is fine, and thanks for not top-posting :-)

I am running out of ideas - it really should be working.

yeah, that's fine - it really _shouldn't_ do anything, because we removed
wlan0 from /etc/network/interfaces.

Right.

Trust me, this is almost as infuriating for me as it is for you!

If you right click on Network Manager, and choose "Connect to other wireless
network", and then enter the essid of your router, what shows in your
syslog from NetworkManager (grep NetworkManager /var/log/syslog)
