Since Maverick the metapackage kde-devel is missing, and it seems to
have been dropped only because Debian stopped to provide it. This
metapackage is extremly helpful to get a basic KDE development
environment in Kubuntu and I truly miss that.
Many KDE developers using Kubuntu rely on this package, removing it
makes Kubuntu a bit harder to use as a distribution, as one has to dive
into http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/KDE4/Prerequisites
and looses quite some time with that setup.
Sorry if I submitted this report to the wrong product but it was already
hard to find this one, feel free to reassign if necessary.
