Default Kubuntu Notification Helper - Code and string review request

Hi,

As you may have seen, the C++ replacement for update-notifier-kde, kubuntu-
notification-helper, has reached beta status.
helper-0-4-85-0-5-beta1/)

At this point, I would like to put the code forward to the greater Kubuntu
development community for code and string review. While I do not doubt the
capabilities and skills of any of those who have currently contributed to the
project, more eyes are always better. Please note anything in the code or UI
that could be done better.

Once the string review is complete I plan to do a soft string freeze where
only new strings can be added, and existing strings can not be modified. This
freeze is happening a bit early since we need all the translations we can get
due to the smallish pool of translation resources.

Thanks in advance,
Jonathan Thomas

Seeing as translations aren't opening until Alpha 3, I think you would be
fine doing your string freeze the same time as everybody else?

In theory translations could begin in bzr before then. (I already have at
least one person who wants do do so for Italian)

Count me for doing the Hebrew translation.
Can I translate it right now?

Yes, it would be appreciated.
Just keep in mind that strings may change until the review is over, etc.

It could, but why push it, this way here when it gets uploaded to the
repos, in Main of course, the translation templates will go directly into
LP and start there. From the looks of it, there is only a few minutes worth
of work for each translator to do (give or take a few minutes of course).
Even if they start in bzr, as soon as gets uploaded to LP, your old
templates aren't going to matter much because someone else will pick it up
and start translating, possibly duplicating the work.

I would try to follow the string and UI freezes if possible, but then again
that is your decision. There is no need to rush it right
