Default How long to unsubscribe?

Hi all,

To switch my subscription to another email address, I had to unsubscribe
and resubscribe. Now I get two copies of all gentoo-users mails even 24
hours later.

Anyone know how long the unsubscribe process takes?

As far as I know, you receive a "good bye" mail a few minutes after
unsuscribing. 24 hours is much too long

That's what I thought :-) I tried again and this time put somethign
sensible in the body of the mail. Let's see if that does it.

It's usually immediate. Has been for me in the past anyway.

Even when you 'top post' and use html messages in mailing lists?!

hehehehe, good one :-)

It's now 48 hours and my old address hasn't been unsubscribed yet.
Anyone have an address for a list admin to investigate this further?

I don't I'm afraid . . . but you may want to sent a message to:

listname+help@gentoo.org (substitute listname for user, or whichever ML you
want to unsubscribe from)

to see if there is a ML admin email address in the help message that will be
sent to you.

Another thing to try would be to unsubscribe completely from all your email
addresses for a couple of days and see if that stops it.

HTH.

I'm still battling with this, still getting dupe postings. It's like the
list software is ignoring my mails.

Can anyone help? Anyone?

You should receive an answer right after you send an empty mail to
"gentoo-user+unsubscribe@gentoo.org".

If you don't, check if the your address is the same you used when
subscribing. Maybe some forwarding?!

I just unsubscribed from 3 lists (gentoo-a64, gentoo-performance and
gentoo-web-user) like this, and it never took more than 5 seconds to
get the answer back.
