You make a changelog entry when you add a version...removing one is just as important. This is a policy on the tree that you are needlessly breaking. If you want the policy changed, then go do that. Otherwise, follow the policies that are there for a reason. Contrary to what you may think, you are not special and the rules apply to you as well.
