I want to file in a few postings now. They are mainly targeted for the
archives, but also to communicate knowlege on Cygwin. Sure your
annotations are welcome.

Fabian pointed to a positing from Eric Blake [1] that the current
CHOST should be set to "i686-pc-cygwin1.7".

Some still requiere "i686-pc-cygwin".

env CHOST="i686-pc-cygwin" emerge --oneshot --ask gettext
env CHOST="i686-pc-cygwin" emerge --oneshot --ask libiconv

Maybe there should something be fixed in those packages, maybe in GNUs
config.guess.
