Default Odd behaviour in bash under Interix 6.1

I'm getting repeated "calling 2" messages in the bash shell that came with
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/experimental/prefix/x86-interix/current/

It's causing such problems as:

i586-pc-interix6.0-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSHELL -I. -I.. -I.. -I../include

Managed to compile bash-4.0_p37, the problem persists.

it looks like a stray debug printf, did you try grepping over the
sources with any success?

Nothing really stood out.

Markus, does this ring any bell to you?

Default Odd behaviour in bash under Interix 6.1

Also, Interix-supplied binaries don't seem to suffer from this problem. E.g.
/opt/gentoo/bin/ls would show "calling 2" but /bin/ls would not.

Here's the file output:
/bin/ls: Windows NT PE format (EXE), executable not stripped AMD64 Posix-CUI
DOS executable (EXE)
/opt/gentoo/bin/ls: Windows NT PE format (EXE), dynamically linked
executable not stripped Intel Posix-CUI

Does that help at all?

It looks more and more like an issue with i6fork. If I source
/opt/gentoo/etc/profile from the system bash shell, the calling 2 message
appears only if the LD_PRELOAD variable is set in
/opt/gentoo/etc/profile.env.
