Default yum install 404 Errors
Hello:

yum keeps erroring out with a 404 not found for most package installs. Below is the example. It tries a bunch of em and ends with "No more mirrors to try". Is this a konwn bug? or do I need to fix something in my .repo files?

Default yum install 404 Errors
Hmm debugging this a little further,* the url's its trying for example:

This fails:
http://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/pub/fedora/linux/updates/9/i386/Packages/sonata-1.5.1-1.fc9.i386.rpm


But if I remove */Packages/* from url i can download package from the browser

http://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/pub/fedora/linux/updates/9/i386/sonata-1.5.1-1.fc9.i386.rpm


So looks like the constructed url should not have Packages but somehow it does.

Any thoughts?

What does your /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo file contain?

The updates mirrorlist definitely should not have a Packages/
directory listed in it. I updated several systems tonight and do not
see a problem.

This is what my fedora-updates.repo says:
