OT: RHEL 5.1 client Error executing formatting or display command.
Found the problem ... I only found it because another admin did NOT have the problem, his profile was different and his main system is SunOS.*
In /etc/profile we have some code that would run "return".* If "return" was commented out the shell issues went away, this modification has worked on many other Linux systems in the past and more than one person had the issue so I figured it was caused by something other than a users profile, I did not think the system profile was causing it ... besides the same code worked on other Linux systems. Thank you all for taking the time to read my post. - Jamie On Nov 27, 2007 6:17 PM, Jamie Bohr <jamiebohr@gmail.com> wrote: Sorry about being off topic, I have googled long and hard and have not found a good recent record of "Error executing formatting or display command" happening.* It sounds like udev is causing the issue but .... I have several RHEL 5.0 clients working great.* If a person logs in as root all works as expected, only non-root users see this problem.* Can someone point me in a direction to look.* FYI: The system is fully patched via RHN. I appreciate any and all help, this is a production server that I am having trouble with. -- Jamie Bohr -- Jamie Bohr -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@redhat.com To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list |
