Default upgrading to kernel 2.6.23.9

Hello,
******* I have Fedora 8 installed on my system.I have the kernel 2.6.23.1-49.According to www.kernel.org the latest stable version is 2.6.23.9.

I tried yum update kernel but it is not updating to the new kernel. It says no packages marked for update. When will the new kernel come into the fedora repositories?
