what is kernel >= 3.5 trying to tell us here?

does this affect "/etc/sysconfig/iptables-config"
IPTABLES_MODULES="nf_conntrack_ftp nf_nat_ftp"

or what is triggering this exactly and what to care for?

no firewalld, no system-config-iptables
"only" a full featured "iptables.sh" for any rules and routing
