Default F-17 live won't use PS/2 keyboard on Foxconn R50-A1

When I boot F-17 live (either x86_64 or i686) on a Foxconn R50-A1, the PS/2
keyboard becomes non-functional after the kernel is loaded. If I plug in a
USB keyboard, that does work and I can see the dmesg output where the PS/2
controller is recognized:

i8042: PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303:PS2K,PNP0f03:PS2M] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1,12
serio: i8042 KBD port at 0x60,0x64 irq1
serio: i8042 AUX port at 0x60,0x64 irq12

The problem seems to occur with any 3.x kernel, as I see the same behavior
with F-16 live (3.1.0 kernel) and Clonezilla 1.2.13-9 live (3.2.0 kernel).

The PS/2 keyboard works just fine with a Linux 2.x kernel.

Any suggestions for how to proceed? Simply using a USB keyboard is not
anacceptable option since the BIOS won't see it.
