Default E-mail image problem - Correction

FWIW, I just set up a POP gmail account....using defaults....on my F16 system running
the same version of TB as you. I sent that account the same image file I sent you
offline. It arrived back at my TB just fine.

Do you have any extensions to TB or filters which may be influencing downloads?

Yes I have 6 or 7 add ons but they have not caused problems before.
My daughter just told me that she was seeing a similar problem on
her Mac, I believe she is using Thunderbird too. That just adds to
the confusion ... I will have to see hers to know if it's the same.

At any rate I don't think I can correlate this problem with the
installation of a new add-on, more likely an Thunderbird update.

I also did another test. I set TB to not load messages greater than 50kb. I then
sent the large-ish image file and was told that the whole message wasn't downloaded
and to "click here".

Again, no problems.... TBird 12.0.1 on F16

Not since this problem became manifest, only Windows, I can get
someone to send an image from a Mac as a test. Probably later
tonight or tomorrow.

Here's something sent from F16 and Thunderbird. Let me know if there
are any problems with it.

I received the little cartoon ok Joe.

I will investigate further tomorrow.

I got different results!

I unchecked the option to limit to 350kb and immediately received my
own test message with image. Then had someone resend the problem
message with image [1.4 Mb] from yesterday and that came up also,
marked as an attachment. This is Thunderbird 12.0.1 and Fedora-16/64
derived from xfce live.

I'll leave it that way for a while, until I start receiving large
files I don't want! The problem is not really solved but I now know
how to live with it.

Thanks,

Bob
