For me, since the upgrade to firefox 12, when accessing certain sites,
which are using flash, firefox freezes for "some time" (ca. 1min), then
a "sad lego icon" telling "The Adobe plugin has crashed" appears where
the video should appear.
An URL, this almost 100% deterministically happens for me, is the 2nd
German TV Channel's (ZDF) mediathek:
Accessing this site exposes the symptoms on an x86_64 with
flash-plugin-11.2.202.233-release.x86_64
On an i386 w/ flash-plugin-11.2.202.233-release.i386, this crash doesn't
happen and appears to work flawlessly.

I'm using a 64bits kernel, but I had to remove the 64 bits flash plugin because of the "blue image" bug. I'm using the 32 bits of flash plugin and have no trouble at all. *About the site you tell, I was able to look at it just fine.
Another bug I had even with the 32 bits flash plugin, was the audio in YouTube, all got fixed when removing the pulseaudio.

I just gave *.235 a try on the x86_64 - No success. Still the same crash
on the zdf URL as before.

No crash, but it stuck on 47% loading with the link you supplied
until I clicked reload at least 4-5 times.
*235 g4bit flash.

Have you tried an older version of Flash. I had some issues with Firefox 10 and the newest flash that have many people. It was a SELinux bug thanks to Adobe. I installed an older version and it's working now.

You do understand that the reason Flash gets updates is to patch
security holes and bugs?
To go 'backwards' to solve a viewing problem opens you to those old
security attacks.
Look for the solution and repair your problem. It is a really bad idea,
normally, to downgrade to an know bad application.

Yes but allowing the flash plugin to have text relocation is
a potential security problem. Most libraries do not need this permission.
Libraries are sometimes coded incorrectly --Thanks Adobe who no longer will maintain its
linux releases except for Chrome.
I rather trust my SELinux security context rather than an proprietary company :-<
