(SOLVED) VMware workstation 8 on linux 2.6.42 (Fedora 15) anyone?

I have verified that upon installing kernel-126.96.36.199-3.fc15.x86_64 from
updates-testing, and then installing the patch in Step 1 of the URL above, and
recompiling the modules, everything works. Just follow the steps at the
URL and you should be good to go.
I _did_ bother to first see if the 188.8.131.52-3 kernel would allow the
unpatched vmware modules to compile and it failed. The patch appears to
users mailing list
