Default (SOLVED) VMware workstation 8 on linux 2.6.42 (Fedora 15) anyone?

I have verified that upon installing kernel- from
updates-testing, and then installing the patch in Step 1 of the URL above, and
recompiling the modules, everything works. Just follow the steps at the
URL and you should be good to go.

I _did_ bother to first see if the kernel would allow the
unpatched vmware modules to compile and it failed. The patch appears to
be necessary.
