rpm -q kernel
then rpm -e an old kernel you don't need anymore.

In /etc/yum.conf reduce the installonly_limit= value to 2.

Thanks, Michael, but no progress:

# rpm -q kernel
kernel-3.1.0-7.fc16.x86_64
#

Moreover:

[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum/$basearch/$releasever
keepcache=0
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1
plugins=1
installonly_limit=2

Any further ideas?
