Default setting fille capabilities.

In the man page for setcap it says:
the capabilities are specified in the form described in cap_from_text.

I can't fine such a file on my machine or using yum whatprovides.
Does anyone know where it can be found?

When *I* do that the man page is not found (nor do I see it in the libcap rpm which is where setcap is installed from...perhaps the
package maintainer should fix their rpm).

That's bizarre. Pops right up on my system (F15 x86_64).

$ rpm -q --filesbypkg libcap
libcap /lib64/libcap.so.2

AAAAHHHHHHHHAAAA! That answers it. Just too bad that you have the devel package installed to get to a man page referenced by
another man page.

But thanks for the info.

The reason yum whatprovides didn’t tell you that would be the .3.gz at
the end: something like
yum whatprovides "/*/cap_to_text*"
would have told you that.

Hope this helps,

James.

You are finding the man page for caps-to-text not the file itself.
