Default Thunderbird - Disappearing Characters

This is very strange and I just want to know if anyone else is seeing
it.....

I'm running TB 8.0 on F15. I've 4 email accounts defined. The system
is up 24/7 and I never logout so TB is also always running. After
fairly long time, a week or more (haven't kept a log), all the Chinese
characters are missing/gone.

A subject like this...

101年農會人員考試 11/28~12/2*名! fmbdugloaf

will read

101 11/28~12/2 ! fmbdugloaf

Restarting TB will restore it. Anyone seeing anything like it?

Bad formatting.... The line length of the above examples should have
been the same.

they are here.

if you are seeing them same when composing and different when reading
received, you are far off in selected fonts.

that is to 'presume', not 'assume'.

yeah but that was George...

101年農會人員考試 11/28~12/2*名! fmbdugloaf

will read

101 11/28~12/2 ! fmbdugloaf
----
as you can see, I had vastly different perspective (and I'm using a
monospaced font but perhaps that's because the Chinese are double byte
characters.

I'm sorry to hear you weren't as lucky as George....

But, I do hope that all this doesn't result in a tangent to the original
question.

lol.

i do not see why it should.

i look at it as we are both answering your question and possibly using
different encoding for viewing.

because you are both using character set utf-8, 'base64', i can not look
at source for any differences in what you 2 are sending.

sorry, don't use T-bird and rarely do Chinese, especially 'subject' -
wife is here with me in the US and don't send her much e-mail these days
not to mention that my Chinese abilities are minimal (Google Translate
is more than my friend,
