abrt isn't catching crashes
 

I have a Gnome Shell bug[1] that I noticed was not being caught by abrt
so I tried to purposely crash other Fedora apps. They are not being
caught either. The abrt GUI doesn't seem to have any on/off switch and I
know I have not purposely disabled it (and it is running in the
background). Any ideas on why abrt isn't working?

I don't know, but it is also apparently screwing up the normal
generation of core files by applications. At work I try to
generate core files to make sure my debugger can read them,
and all my core file tests stopped working until I uninstalled
all the abrt packages.

Maybe abrt itself is aborting?

Maybe, but erasing all packages with abrt at
the beginning of the name fixed it for sure :-).

I didn't take the time to try and analyze
why it was happening, and I'd have to put all
the packages back to find out now.
