When I use OSS (+set s_driver oss +set s_numberOfSpeakers 2):
------ OSS Sound Initialization ------
opened sound device '/dev/dsp'
ioctl SNDCTL_SYSINFO failed: Invalid argument
this ioctl is only available in OSS/Linux implementation. If you run
OSS/Free, don't bother.
/dev/dsp - bit rate: 16, channels: 2, frequency: 44100
allocated a mix buffer of 16384 bytes
--------------------------------------
I also tried:
[ra@morticia ~]$ cat /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
quake2 0 0 direct
quake3.x86 0 0 direct
quake4.x86 0 0 direct
With no change.
I've tried almost everything the mighty, all knowing Oracle Google has told
me to do (except start compiling kernels and soundsystems) with no luck.
I'm using KDE with the KDE soundsystem disabled. No artsd or esd is running.
As far as sound is concerned, my machine is as it was when I installed it.
Otherwise, I have no problems with sound. Older games (Quake2, Quake3,
Wolf, Cedega) and everything else performes wonderfully.
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device 3010

Has anyone else had audio problems with Quake4 or Doom3 on fc8 (I didnt have
these problems with fc7) and managed to fix them ?
Thanks in advance.
