Default Add a network device alias

I'm having a blonde moment. I need to add a network device alias on a
Fedora 14 box.

The proper way that is documented is to add a ifcfg-eth0:0 file with the
IP inside and call it done. This isn't working for me. When I restart
the network service the alias is not brought up.

Fedora 14
NetworkManager controlled
eth0 set to static IP
eth1 set to static IP

I need to add an eth0:0 alias at a different IP. Same subnet.

$ cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:0
DEVICE=eth0:0
IPADDR=10.0.0.22

Is there something I'm missing?

It seems NetworkManager doesn't support[1] alias files.
