I just downloaded (by bittorrent) the F15 x86_64 Live CD image, and
made a Live USB stick with LiveUSB Creator. When Trying to boot this
on my Samsung RC512 laptop, the boot process halts, displaying:
Dropping to debug shell.
sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
dracut:/#
What does it mean?...

Sadly F15 is a bit of a pile of warm poop - you'll probably need to
udpate dracut to get this to work ... see if that helps.

If you cannot for some reason build a new F15 Live - then there are
some work arounds here that may help:

It isn't just F15 live. F15 net install and F15 complete DVD will not
boot in libvirt/kemu. At least for me. I have re-verified sha256sum
hashes, good but no boot. The DVD locks on uncompressing the initramfs.
I am not sure about the net-install as I don't have time to watch it
boot right now. It would be good if we could get new images if they can
be fixed.

I cannot help with that but I am not surprised - current virtualbox
with the 3D extension has worked for some people - you may also wish to
avoid gnome 3 which make demands on graphics that may or may not work
under kvm/qemu/kemu or whatever ..

Are you giving it at least 640M of RAM, preferably more? F15 requires more
memory to install (the amount needed after install should be roughly the same,
though).

I found on one occasion that the Fedora LiveUSB Creator failed,
but livecd-iso-to-disk (in the livecd-tools package) worked for me.

Sad to say I've found Fedora 15 release to be somewhat more unreliable
than usual. Hopefully given a few weeks of updates it will become more
stable. Although, given the changes made it is understandable, and I
remember going Fedora 8 -> 10, skipping Fedora 9 for just that reason.
But all credit to the Fedora team for doing a good job, plenty of things
to be proud of.

I haven't used livecd-iso-to-disk in a long time. However, it refuses
to even try:
The media check is complete, the result is: PASS.
It is OK to use this media.
USB filesystem must be vfat or ext[23]
Cleaning up to exit...
Except that I know for certain that the filesystem on the flash drive
is vfat. I formatted it just before attempting to write the live
image. When it's mounted (not while livecd-iso-to-disk is running)
mount tells me it's vfat.
Oh well. Thanks everybody for the replies. It would have been nice if
the livecd/usb had just worked, but I don't really have the time to
dink with this. I'll probably just try F14 or else wait for F16 on
this laptop. Such is Fedora...

Did you umount the flash drive before running livecd-iso-to-disk? If
not then it won't work!
if your flash drive is /dev/sdb1 then you need to umount /dev/sdb1 as
root before using livecd-iso-to-disk to write to that partition.
