Guys, I have done a full update of FC14, I run gnome,
I rebooted a few times, and have not seen the /dev/ull entry.

Rebooting is irrelevant in this case. Run "rpm -q --scripts gdm|grep /ull"
then take a closer look at the full --scripts output and think about
when either one of the two shell scripts would be executed.
(Hint: the scriptlets are %postun and %posttrans.)

I see
gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor >&/dev/ull || :
gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor >&/dev/ull || :

Looks like the script writer missed the 'n' TWICE

Thanx!!

Yes - the file /dev/ull contains one line:
gtk-update-icon-cache: Cache file created successfully.

yeah, mine too. clearly a broken script, attemting to throw
output away but missing the 'n'.

Yes. The fix is rather trivial, just correct the .spec file,
compile gdm and force-install the resulting .rpm.
