Two PC are now running, one with F7 and the other F14. The Firefox on
F7 works, but not the on F14. No problem with the ISP.

No, both PCs can not access the proxy one.

Do the two installations have the exact same set of plugins? Have you
run each of them with plugins disabled ("firefox -safe-mode")?
