Default YUM failures

I'm getting this:

# yum --disablerepo=livna update
poptop-stable 100% |=========================| 1.9 kB 00:00
http://poptop.sourceforge.net/yum/stable/fc7/i386/repodata/primary.sqlite.bz2:
[Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out>
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: repodata/primary.sqlite.bz2 from poptop-stable: [Errno 256] No
more mirrors to try.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks in advance

/Kevin

it means that none of the mirrors are responding ... usually trying
again later fixes that.

In this particular case it means that access to the "poptop-stable"
repository timed out and no other alternative baseurls for it were
available. Try again later or disable poptop-stable temporarily:

yum --disablerepo=poptop-stable --disablerepo=livna update

I had pretty much the same -problem.
I had livna disabled in the repo file.
I think what I did was the following.
I ran
yum update --excludepackage=xine-lib
To get all the other stuff out of the way.
Then I ran
yum --enablerepo=livna update xine-lib
xine-lib-extras-nonfree
and yum kept it all straight with no errors.
I think that xine-lib is a fedora package and
xine-lib-extras-nonfree is a livna package and you
have to give yum a chance to see bothe repos.
Hope that helps.

Hello,

I am curious to know what you got, could you run:
rpm -qa|grep xine
and let me know what you got.

Thank.

I screwed up the commands a little on my previous
message I hate when that happens.
They should be
yum --exclude=xine-lib update
and
yum --enablerepo=livna update update
xine-lib-extras-nonfree xine-lib
I am not sure the order of the updat packages in the
last one makes a difference, but this is what I did (I
checked my bash history)

If this is a dupe, I apologize. I am fooling with
different mailers. If Microsoft buys Yahoo, I will
need a new host.
I am not sure who you wanted the output from but here
is mine.

rpm -qa|grep xine
xine-lib-1.1.10-1.fc7
gxine-mozplugin-0.5.11-14.fc7
xine-lib-extras-nonfree-1.1.10-1.lvn7
totem-xine-2.18.3-1.lvn7
gxine-0.5.11-14.fc7
xine-0.99.5-1.lvn7
