That would be strange, as the code explicitly ignores the loopback device
when automatically choosing a device to monitor.
It directly examines /proc/net/route for the default route device, where
"lo" doesn't appear under normal circumstances (unless you explicitly make
"lo" the default route). And in case you don't have any default route set,
it relies on glibtop for finding interfaces which are up and not "lo".
If it automatically switched to "lo", that could have been a temporary
issue in glibtop.
Further, the automatic switching to "default route" device is broken,
and the trivial patch (IPv4 only) is here:

I'd be happy to take up python-pgsql's maintenance. I've gotten a lot
out of Fedora and would like to give something back.
However, Felix Schwarz pointed out that python-psycopg2 also provides
a database interface for Python and is far more popular.
I wouldn't mind maintaining python-pgsql anyway, if there are people
who use it despite the availability of python-psycopg2.
But perhaps there would be a better use for my time. That is, would
the community be better off if python-pgsql were completely abandoned,
and I contributed in some other way?
Ever Faithful,

I guess some other way would help more as long as nobody shouts that he
needs python-pgsql. Here is a list of the different ways, that you can start
contributing to Fedora:
http://fedoraproject.org/join-fedora
This is a list of packages that people wish to be Fedora, so if you want to
start maintaining software in Fedora, you can pick something from here:
