Boot problem
Well
Perhaps I do not make myself understandable....
I already enable TV support on BIOS...
Indeed, I has Xen works on this machine...
Now, I install Ubuntu last version to test KVM...
When I boot with vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-server, the system is unable to found
boot device...
However, when I boot vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic, the system works
normally....
By the way, I'll try compile a kernel from scratch...
Thanks

Boot problem
Hi Gilberto,
thats the problem, the "Virtual Server" Profile is used to install for Virtual Guests, it has just basic device drivers, to be small and*fast, only the neccessary stuff to start virtual machine to be honest.
The "Virtual Host"-Profile is chosen in the further installation process, next to the end of it
Hope that solves your problem.Bye.

Yeah... This is it!...
I install linux-image-generic and all is working now...

Hi,I don't understand the question.
Do you use the generic kernel inside of virtual machine and may think its more slowly than the virtual kernel?

Well...
I do not know! I do not boot with virtual kernel to hava some
parameter....
But right now I run virt-manager and try install Windows 2003 Server on
image file (/image/win2003.img) with qcow2 format...
And let me say it... It's very very slow...
BTW, this installation is only to access another partition of drbd disk
here, as a secondary partition...
I will test this yet....
Thanks

Boot problem
Hi,
so the initial problem had nothing to do with your currently solved problem?Well, a real disk is always faster than a file on disk due to I/O problems.I recommend to use Logical Volumes (LVM) for usage in virtual machines.
You're much more flexible in resizing the disks than using static partitions, where you really run in trouble if u want to increase the disk size or partition.
Good luck with your VMs.
Bye, Benjamin.

Boot problem
How can I see what is happening during the display of the splash screen during Ubuntu boot? The splash screen is displaying for a very long time with no change other than the orange and white dots alternating, and then it displays a plain black screen (with backlight). I am using Ubuntu 10.10.
Thanks!

You can edit the command line in Grub (select the kernel you want to
boot, then hit 'e' to get to a command line). You need to append the
'nosplash' option to it, and then hit the right command to carry on the
boot process - I can't remember what it is in Grub 2, but I know it
says it on the screen when you're editing.
