Default Yum problem revisisted!

Hello all,

I posted a message earlier and the suggestion I got did not solve the problem.

Here is the output of a yum update command:

[root@linbook2 ~]# yum update

self.repoid))
TypeError: Can not create db_info table: database is locked

I have completely removed and reinstalled yum, yum-metadata-parser,
yum-utils and
still the problem persists.

I have tried yum clean cache and yum clean all and still no joy.

I have insured that no lock files or pid files exist for yum.

I have also completely removed and reinstalled the sqlite rpms.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried disabling the plugins and or hardwiring your repo mirrors?

Nope, tried it straight away.

Still get the same problem and error.

I really have no clue what to do next. I am considering trying a post
on the yum list, I am sure
one exists.

Thanks for your thoughts.
