Just installed in Fedora 8 the x64 JVM from the Sun site jre-6u3-linux-amd64.bin, which does not have the Mozilla plugin /libjavaplugin_oji.so. Has anyone been able to install both the Sun Java plugin for Firefox and still run the x64 JVM?

Try using Icedtea which has a 64bit mozilla plugin and works fine.

Unfortunately, Icedtea does not support a number of Java applets.
