Default Installation options

Hi Guys,

Recently one of my friend demonstrated the New Ubuntu (8) Installation feature for Windoz people, who wants to switch to GNU/Linux,
as most people scared of installing GNU/Linux on there Win Box as a dual boot.

The Ubuntu installer was started from Windoz env, and after 1st reboot it took the normal installation procedure.
But there is no grub, windoz manage it.

Still I didn't upgraded my F8 box with F9, so not sure F9 also available the same feature.

Regards,
Danishka

F9 does not have this feature. Ubuntu has got the woobi installer
which is part of 8.04 and that does this job of running Ubuntu inside
windows but Fedora currently does not have this feature

He is talking about the new installer which got released in 8.04. Its
the wubi installer which is part of 8.04 which allows you to install
Ubuntu as an application inside windows.

But thats only at the time you start the system you dont invoke it
from windows. i guess you were asking about the installer getting
invoked from windows environment . If yes then fedora does not have
this as of now .
More info on how Ubuntu does this http://wubi-installer.org/

I wonder if this is possible through some modification of the
LiveUSB-Creator to install on harddisk instead of USB .. and make the
syslinux setup able to load the installed Windows env ..
