Default Self Introduction

Hi,

I am Alex Chernyakhovsky. I am currently a 2nd-year student at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, studying Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science. I am a long-time user of Red Hat Linux, Fedora, and Red
Hat Enterprise Linux.

I greatly admire the work the Fedora contributors do, and for the longest
time have wanted to participate beyond simply reporting bugs. I now wish
to become a Fedora Packager, and finally have the opportunity to do so. I
have packaged "Mosh: the mobile shell". The review request can be found
here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=806665

Thanks!

Sincerely,
-Alex

Hi everyone,

My name is Tony Asleson and I have been working at Red Hat since July.
I'm currently working on libStorageMgmt, a library to manage external
storage arrays.

The project location:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/libstoragemgmt/

My review request:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=807472

I am looking for package reviewers and as this is my first package I
need a sponsor too. In addition I am looking for help on the project
itself too :-)

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Review request: *https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812659
Sponsor needed. *I'm a long-time open source contributor, notably to*ACE*and*nmh.

Some nmh developers and users would like to see a*par*package on Fedora. *I volunteered to shepherd par through the process. *I expect that it will be relatively easy: *there are only four files in the RPM. *par has been around a long time and has a small but very dedicated user base.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hi,

after posting bug reports and patches for quite some time, I
finally decided to set up a FAS account to see how I can
help with packaging and other tasks at hand.

I believe my Linux experience started with Vanderbilt af-
ter one encounter with DJ'ing Slackware onto my system and
giving up when I saw the result :-).

My initial interest will probably lie in pushing out the
Emacs/Perl packages that I found a) useful and b) lacking in
the Fedora distribution, but as "works for me" will no
longer be a sufficient criteria I have to read up on the
rather voluminous documentation before I will ask for my
first review.

Hello,

As a contributor to the aeolus project[2], I have built and/or packaged scores of rubygems for inclusion in RHEL. Until now I have not yet joined the Fedora package collection maintainers group. I'd like to get sponsored so that I can help maintain aeolus releases in Fedora.

I have created a review request in bugzilla for my attempt to package rubygem-paranoia[1], a package we'd like to use in aeolus.

I'm a Software Engineer at Red Hat, Inc. My irc handle is 'eggs'. I'm usually on #aeolus on freenode.

Thanks in advance,
Steve Linabery

Hello all!

I'm trying to package Fest for Fedora, and I need a sponsor for this
first package:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=816264

This is my first package, but I'm not new to Fedora, I recently joined
Red Hat, after many year of Free Software work with other companies,
I've been using Fedora since Fedora Core 1, and before that I was a Red
Hat Linux user (since 6.0!).

During the years, I've contribute some fixes here and there in Fedora
packages (although mostly upstream), but this is my first attempt at
packaging a full rpm set of packages.

Cheers,
Mario

Hello all,

I've been sitting silently in this mailing list for the past few weeks, but just this afternoon submitted my first package review request for pdfminer, a Python library for extracting plaintext, HTML, and images from a pdf file: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=823679

I learned the basics of writing a spec file a while back, but nothing really ever came of this as I couldn't find any software I was actually interested in packaging. That is, until recently, when I found myself using pdfminer in a small project (I'm primarily a Python programmer, though I mess around with lots of other languages). So then I saw it wasn't packaged in Fedora, and decided it would be a perfect first package for me.

I've used Fedora since 13/14, but again, only recently decided I wanted to become involved in development and packaging.

I am (obviously) looking for a sponsor to proceed further with Fedora packaging- as I said in the review ticket itself, I can start doing reviews of other people's packages soon as part of that process.
