Unable to Install Fedora 15 on Dell Inspiron 17R2
Hi,
Thank you for prompt reply _________________________________________________ I could not install Fedora Linux at all. Can I give kernel parameters before even installing? How can I do that? I had only some 3-4 Graphical options: 1.Install System 2.Upgrade existing system 3.Memtest I selected 1st option and it remained forver saying: waiting for hardware initialization. Hi Carlos, Thank you for kind help. _________________________________ My Laptop has 2GB dedicated nvidia Geforce card + intel grafix card *8GB RAM i7 2630QM. 1)How can I install when Live CD is running?I think have to reboot** after replacing Live CD by Install DVD. 2)I wonder why same issue is occuring with Ubuntu 11.10 I will try Fedora 16 Today. Rajesh, hi:Once the Live is running there's a shortcut to "Install to disk" or something like this. It's no necessary to boot with the DVD again. If you're using the nvidia card, for sure, you're going to need the*proprietary*driver to get Gnome3 working.Personally I think it's a good idea to skip Fedora 15 and going directly to Fedora 16. Have you tried to install once the Live is started? Have you tried Fedora 16 DVD? -- "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
