Default F12 on a Dell e6510

All,

It seems as if the nvidia/nv driver for this laptop ain't working at
bootup. Anyone had any joy with this? Installing from live USB key if
it makes any diff.

1 - Boot from live USB key
2 - Edit grub/boot stanza so that selinux=0
3 - Watch laptop screen turn black when OS boots.

Unfortunaley no VGA monitors are detected either

What is the nvidia card?

When is the screen turning black?

If you edit the grub/boot to also add '3' so you boot to runlevel 3, do
you get a prompt?

I'm asking because I've had to add:

quiet vga=794 selinux=0 iommu=soft acpi_osi=Linux

to mine.

The iommu=soft is to get the nvidia/nouveau to work
The acpi_osi=Linux is to get the FN-F8 to switch screens correctly.
