why did this appliance build fail in koji?

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=4568545

The appliance log is:

Adding disk sda as /var/tmp/imgcreate-l4uR5m/tmp-mYGLa0/Fedora-18-Beta-ec2-20121007-x86_64-sda.raw
Extending sparse file /var/tmp/imgcreate-l4uR5m/tmp-mYGLa0/Fedora-18-Beta-ec2-20121007-x86_64-sda.raw to 10485760000
Losetup add /dev/loop0 mapping to /var/tmp/imgcreate-l4uR5m/tmp-mYGLa0/Fedora-18-Beta-ec2-20121007-x86_64-sda.raw
Formatting disks
Initializing partition table for /dev/loop0 with msdos layout
Unable to create appliance : Failed mount disks : Error writing partition table on /dev/loop0
Losetup remove /dev/loop0

Can we get any deeper insight into what went wrong?

I can't find anything for that build... but I may not be looking in
all the right places. Do you have anything newer?

Hmmmm. Looks like:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=525900

Except that was fixed by a patch to parted three years ago.

(Hmmm; is the builder running on RHEL5? But that doesn't explain why it
would suddenly stop.)

All systems are running RHEL6 except one app server.Sorry I can't help
more but this doesn't seem to be from any RPM I can find in EPEL so is
probably something embedded now in some other code.

I rebuilt it from the Rawhide RPM on an RHEL 6.3 box in the Fedora private
cloud. Did *not* get this problem -- image built fine. (Issues with grub2
remain to resolve, but that's a different kettle of dynamite.)
