* My name is Dave Parfitt and I live in Buffalo, NY, USA (EST).*
I have been writing software since the 1980's in many different languages and on several platforms (Java, Ruby, C, Python, C#, FreeBSD kernel internals etc). I'm currently a Software Engineer at the State University of New York at Buffalo, but have previously worked as a hybrid sysadmin/developer.
I can contribute about 4 hours on average. Some weeks I'll have more time, some weeks none.
I'm joining to meet and learn from other interesting people around the globe. As I am more of a "tools person", it seemed like the infrastructure team is a great fit.
