Default New Sponsor Request: Denis Leroy

We (the sponsors) once had a mailing list to discuss nominations,
because we did not want to expose private comments on a public list.

What has happened to that list?

I believe we used to use the fedora-maintainers-list, which was shut
down in the fall. If you can think of a better list to use, I have no
problem with moving the discussion there.

I thought it was cvsextras-sponsors@fedoraproject.org ? That's where
all the requests come in (still), and I'm almost certain that is where
the discussion took place.

Cool. Let me send it there then.

Problem with sending it there (as the lone sponsor in 'fedorabugs') is
that the administrators don't get mail that's sent there (not sure if
that's a problem with cvsextras or not). I agree that such a
discussion shouldn't be held in public, however.

Which administrators are you talking about?

This list was supposed to be only visible/readable to sponsors, not to
nominees nor to arbitrary admins nor to arbitrary readers.

We once had the convention that all sponsors were obliged to be
subscribed on this "list". I don't recall if it had been an automated
process.

Sure. The purpose of this list had been to vote on nominees before they
had been presented to FESCO.

Ralf

PS: I wonder if the fact no sponsors have been nominated for a very long
time and the fact we are discussing details of the nomination process,
which actually should "just work", is a reflection of the sponsorship
model having failed.

Maybe. Or it could also be a reflection on the fact that we don't have
a lack of existing sponsors and adding more isn't going to do a whole
lot.

The following people would not receive mail sent to
cvsextras-sponsors@fedoraproject.org:

bpepple,bdpepple@gmail.com,Brian Pepple,administrator,7
gdk,gdk@redhat.com,Greg DeKoenigsberg,administrator,0
skvidal,skvidal@linux.duke.edu,Seth Vidal,administrator,3
sopwith,sopwith+fedora@gmail.com,Elliot Lee,administrator,21
spot,tcallawa@redhat.com,Tom Callaway,administrator,38
thl,fedora@leemhuis.info,Thorsten Leemhuis,administrator,6
wtogami,wtogami@redhat.com,Warren Togami *上勇,administrator,55

Are you wishing to exclude these people from the process? I think not.....

I'm not sure what other admins you're talking about.

You didn't list what they admin.

> Are you wishing to exclude these people from the process? I think not.....

Well, Greg and Elliot seem to have bowed out of the packaging
perspective a while ago. The rest, with the exception of Thorsten, are
in FESCo and would review and discuss eventually anyway.

I don't really care either way, but it seems that you're making a bit of
a deal over nothing .
