The Description of Programming i need to know for OS Development is not clear. What All programming languages should i know for OS Development ?
One More Thing, I would like to know. The Fedora's GSoC 2012 Page was tagged with PHP as well. I wish to know for which category can I help Fedora with my PHP knowledge.
Thank you.

Most OS development is done on the kernel and some core command line
tools, and most of these are written in C.

I would suggest that you try to get involved in more upstream (eg., GNOME)
projects instead of a distribution. That way you are higher up the food chain
and effect change on a wider and deeper scale.
Best of luck.
Happy hacking,
Debarshi

Developing for Fedora Operating System
Dne 9.10.2012 20:04, Rohit napsal(a):
Respected Sir,
I am seriously considering developing for the Fedora Linux Operating System. Also, I have interest in participating in Google Summer of Code 2013 under your organisation.
I have knowledge of C, PHP, Javascript, Python(basic) and Objective-C Programming Languages. I am willing to learn any programming language needed for the purpose. It will not take time as i am already familiar with the concepts.
Also, I have been using Fedora Operating system since 2 Years. So, Please Guide me in the Right Direction and tell me what All I need to learn for the purpose.
Yours Truly,
Rohit Tripathi
UIET, PU, Chandigarh.
Hi,
May be you can take a look here [1], where you can find some easy tasks
to start with.
Regarding Google Summer of Code, you should be looking into these pages
[2, 3], where you find more information as well as suitable
communication channels.
