I use ssh-add all the time - but not the gnome agent - i use
ssh-agent. (I'm esp. not fond of it's mouse focus grabbing)

A few others I know also use ssh-agent .. so that may be a part of it
too ...

Tho it may not hit everyone ... bugs have that habit :-)

I saw this issue a couple of days ago, logs saying stuff like:

Sep 30 17:15:00 turre gnome-session[8602]: WARNING: Application
'gnome-keyring-pkcs11.desktop' failed to register before timeout
Sep 30 17:15:00 turre gnome-session[8602]: WARNING: Application
'gnome-keyring-gpg.desktop' failed to register before timeout
Sep 30 17:15:00 turre gnome-session[8602]: WARNING: Application
'gnome-keyring-secrets.desktop' failed to register before timeout
Sep 30 17:15:00 turre gnome-session[8602]: WARNING: Application
'gnome-keyring-ssh.desktop' failed to register before timeout

Then an update involving various 2.32 versions of gnome packages and a
reboot later the problem disappeared, so I just shrugged it off. I seem to
recall some components getting updated to 2.32 in an earlier update
(when things broke) so /maybe/ it was some gnome 2.31 vs 2.32
component mismatch. Dunno.

Possibly a dupe of:
